Educational Opportunities
Traveling Temple Worship Team
Congregations interested in hearing our story and experiencing the Grand Avenue spirit first hand through music and praise are encouraged to contact Rev. Ron about the Traveling Temple Worship Team visiting your church.
Prayer Walk
Walk the “Trail of Tears” or the “Sojourner Circle” with one of Grand Avenue’s Sojourners and experience downtown Kansas City from their eyes. Our Sojourners will take you on a walking tour of the nearby homeless services and shelters, as well as pointing out hangouts and homeless camps. During the walk they will also tell their story and talk about the reality of life on the street.
The prayer walk itself takes approximately one hour. We spend some time before and after orienting the group and answering questions. Although it’s a long walk, it is not a hike through downtown. This is an opportunity to reflect and pray along your journey.
Homelessness in KC Presentation
An enlightening and interactive presentation on homelessness in America and more specifically the issues right here in Kansas City. By showing a 5 minute video on homelessness in Kansas City and discussing the ‘Realities of Homelessness,’ we addresses common factors causing homelessness as well as the struggles we face as a society in addressing this growing issue.
This presentation can be given in conjunction with a Prayer Walk at Grand Avenue or can be presented in your church.
Building/Organ tours
Individuals or groups interested in learning more about this historic building or the Opus 190 organ are encouraged to schedule a private tour to learn more.
To arrange any of these educational opportunities please contact the church office.
